I am loving the person I am becoming. I have hardly changed physically in years, but when it comes to growth in other aspects, it is evident in me.

I have become more aware about what I like and don’t like.

I have drawn the line between what I can put up with and can’t tolerate.

I have set boundaries for those who think themselves clever.

I have come to realize that I enjoy spending time with myself.

These days, I do not have friends, just mere acquaintances. I boldly say no when I am not pleased with a request. Or simply ignore. As a child, I learned the saying: no communication, no commitment. Although, I did not start applying the saying until later in life. I also learned the saying: friends and books should be good and few. Friendship requires going out of one’s way, which mostly becomes a parasitic relationship because it is unlikely that two people treat each other with equal respect. Rather, people will take you for granted, so I do not see any point pleasing people who will, at the end of the day, say that you have done nothing for them. The world is full in ingrates. Not that one is waiting around to be thanked.
