Preamble:

How is it that I have come to enjoy Medium, so much so that I make mental notes of article ideas throughout the day, even as I sit by the computer busying myself with my logistics work on weekdays. Sometimes, I wonder if working your regular 9–5 makes me ordinary. But that’s a story for another day.

Travelling Does Not Equate to Wealth

As I mentioned in my previous post, life becomes mundane and repetitive that I yearn for a change of scenery from time to time. There are pecuniary problems, of course, related to travelling outside of one’s comfort — your home — is not so much appreciated until you leave for a foreign land and hope to encounter “nice” people who won’t frown their face giving you directions or even worse, ignore you as you approach before you are able to open your mouth to speak.

As a tourist, I usually leave the hotel in the morning. I explore the city throughout the day, by way of sightseeing, discovering new and different things, stumbling on interesting spots, speaking to strangers, meeting new people as I am out and about, selecting a restaurant to dine in and trying new cuisines, splurging here and there on souvenirs and the likes, engaging in fun activities or simply watching…
