Why Do We Make Something Out Of Nothing?

Life is far too beautiful to be focused on why such and such don’t fit. Before a problem arises, we’re already predetermined and set to program our mind to search for deal-breakers and come up with a convenient ruse.

I am one of them.

I dislike the version of me that does this.

When things are going well, maybe not perfectly well, but suitably well, we tend to convince ourselves that it’s too good to be true. Say for instance, in a relationship or a potential relationship, which people term as the “talking stage,” you get to know each other and instead of enjoying the process of it bit by bit, one of you starts overthinking and suggests reasons a relationship that is yet to start won’t work out.

I am the overthinker.

I can see through your lies.

HaHa.

On a more serious note, I think our subconscious self wishes for the exact opposite of what we see as ideal to be good for us. For instance, a part of us duly enjoys the single life, but the other part of us is conscious of time. Let’s face it, no one wants to end up old and alone because we were too picky and couldn’t decide on a partner.
