Staring —
Blankly at the words on a blackboard
Like the meaning were meant to escape us
While I seem to be the only one curious
Worrying —
Not about time, not about leaving
But the complacence that plagues my mind
Yet the kingdom of truth lies behind
Breathing —
Like my survival depended on the answers
To which I refused to allow artlessness steal
This time, they couldn’t but agree,
while others stayed still
And all the while, we‘d been ensnared by lies
Our teachers had escaped, right in our own eyes.
