I’m thinking far ahead

I’m thinking Wisconsin and I’m thinking Georgia

I’m thinking ahead in time and proximity

I’m thinking longevity

I’m thinking objectively

I could be far from your mental image –

You know, that pictured result

But I could be the perfect image yet to be thought of

I’m thinking things, but unable to form images

I’m thinking about the softness of your cheeks

And how badly I want to settle them in between my cupped hands

How about I put thinking to a halt

Perhaps, I could, for a little longer, wait

And your face could just be the pictured result.
